Activities

Endless terrain with a wide variety of beautiful Idaho adventures.

We have it all for adults and children to experience the beauty and wonder of Idaho and the Frank Church Wilderness.

  • Horseback Riding

Two guided trail rides are offered most days with the exception of an all day lunch ride on Fridays.

Our trail guides will match you to a horse based on your experience level.

The guides will have a briefing before the first ride of the week to make everyone feel more comfortable. During the briefing your guides will introduce you to your horse and get your saddle adjusted. Most of the rides are between 1.5 and 2.5 hours.

Trail rides are available for those six and older. The guides are happy to lead children under six around the corral. Riding lessons are available upon request.

  • Fishing

Cast a line for Rainbow, Cutthroat, and other native trout in streams only 50 yards from your cabin, or try our private lake. Row boats are available and are docked at the lake. Fly fishing is very popular in this area, especially on Loon Creek which runs right through the ranch. Licenses must be purchased prior to visiting the ranch. They can be purchased online at www.idfg.gov .

Intro to Fly Fishing basic instruction will be offered twice weekly on the front yard of the ranch. Our guides will help you learn to cast, tie basic knots and the components of the rod and reel.

If you are looking for the best fly fishing experience, let our staff show you some of the hot spots on Loon Creek. This can be arranged at the ranch or prior to your stay.

  • Swimming

The swimming pool is for our guests to enjoy. It is heated by solar tubing, but the cold evening temperatures keep it from getting too warm. The hot tub, however, is always warm and available for use anytime of the day or night. Star gazing from the hot tub is a favorite among guests.

  • Gold Panning

Guests will gather by the creek to learn how to gold pan. It is not uncommon to find nice sized garnets and gold flakes. We supply each gusts with a gold vile to keep their gems safe! Gold panning is offered 3 times throughout the week.

  • Lawn Games

Our big grass lawn is the perfect place to enjoy corn-hole, bocce ball, horseshoes, volleyball, badminton and kickball with the family. There are a variety of board games available in the main lodge.

  • Shooting

Target Shooting is offered once weekly on Wednesdays. Clay shooting is offered on Fridays. An experienced guide will give a safety briefing and demonstration.

  • Archery

Offered every week on Mondays. Adults and Children welcome. An experienced Guide will give a safety demonstration.

  • Art and Crafts

Craft time is offered twice weekly. Dream catchers and painting horse shoes, the kids love it!

  • Bonfires

One of our favorite activities. Sitting by a fire in the wilderness stargazing and laughing with your family and eating s’mores is a memory you and your children will never forget.

  • The Lake

Take a dip in our refreshing lake. Go fishing, row the boat, take a paddle board out or enjoy a quiet place to read .

  • Additional Kid Stuff

Swing set and play area, with events planned every night after dinner. Babysitters are available for an hourly rate.
